Vortex Lippage System

In this video I show a lippage system called Vortex. Lippage systems are NOT leveling systems. Tile setters should get the tile as FLAT as they can and then use a system to "Tweak" the lippage. Large mirror removal - safely

In this video I will show you a safe technique that I use to remove large bathroom mirrors. As a remodeling contractor I come across this often. Pretty sure you should make two types.... One with stickiness for horizontal and one for verical... getting a 2 inch thick barrier and stacking it up multiple times really looks idiotic, and the stack will look uneven.

    I had two bath mirrors to remove. I tried your method on the first mirror and was left with tiny shards of glass everywhere. The second mirror I used the wood shim method. The shims worked great and left no broken glass, and no mess to clean up. My recommendation is to stick with the shim method. It's safer and less clean up.

    • @closequarters4575
      @closequarters4575 3 дня назад

      I agree with the shim method normally, but in cases when the mirror has too much adhesive that it won’t budge, this is a good way to remove the mirror.

    Thank you for doing this video. I'm about to do the same in a box truck although I am going to vent the hot air out the side with a vent. Was trying to figure out how to get air to the sides and top of the ac unit? So it looks like you're using the air inside the cabinet and the air inside the camper for that purpose? or am I seeing it wrong? I like the idea sometimes video creators follow the crowd and over engineer a project. Not going to be living in it just need it cool when traveling (especially sw Fl) How is that working out?

    Continuing the reply from below, the mirror did come off stuck to the shield. I would probably add to your post that maybe break a smaller section at a time cutting the shield and removing as you go. But it was a good idea. I am just an idiot. Thanks Phil for the idea.

    Well Phil, I found your video and thought WOW! Sounds like a perfect way to remove my mirror. Got the carpet shield, put 3 layers ( must be better than 2) and picked up the hammer and tried to break the mirror. The hammer bounced off the mirror with no effect. Kept trying until it finally started breaking. I was so happy. I took my razor knife and tried to score a small section but the blade just seemed to slide along the glass and when I tried to pull that section away the entire mirror came down. Sliced my arm open, requiring 6 stitches, another piece punctured my wrist, through my glove, which caused a hematoma in my hand. But, the mirror did co

    If you're getting voids, sans BB, doesn't that just mean you didn't apply enough thinset to the substrate, or provide enough pressure when setting the tile?

    I just took my mirror out using this procedure. I used a very heavy box and taped it up good. It was a very clean removal. I did wipe up all the surfaces with wet paper towels and then hit everything with my shop vacuum just in case any little pieces of glass where on the floor. Thanks for sharing this video. It’s really the way to go.

    Nice work. .I have installed five Easy Heat systems in bathroom floors. No failures. The only thing I would do differently than you do here, is buy a longer cable so that the loops would be closer together. I don't know if you will get cool spots. An advantage of having thorough coverage of the cable is that spilled water evaporates quickly. But really, your customers have noting to worry about. This is a pro install.
